Ski Train At Plain

by Mojaveflyer

One day before it's last run, the Rio Grande Ski Train climbs past the east switch at Plain siding, 25 miles west of downtown Denver, CO on March 28, 2009. The train ran for 60 years between Denver and the Winter Park Ski Area just west of the Moffat Tunnel in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Last spring the train was sold to a Canadian group to use as a ski train to the ski areas near Alberta, Canada.
