Westbound At Tolland

by Mojaveflyer

Union Pacific 7006, one of close to a thousand of this type of General Electric locomotives, approaches the west switch at Tolland, CO, high in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. The sun is rapidly disappearing behind the hills in the November, 2008 photo. One more siding and the train will enter the 7 mile long Moffat Tunnel to cross the Continental Divide and continue it's trip westward to the coal mines in northwest Colorado.
