Lisbon from Padrão dos Descobrimentos
by analogue
Let me introduce my city!
This picture was taken from the Top of the monument "Padrão dos Descobrimentos", build in the fifties to celebrate the age of discovery by Portugueses in the 15th and 16th centuries.
The monument is situated down town, in the Belém area by the river (partially inside the river).

Reaching the top of the monument you can see across the river or, you can see the city of the seven hills, Lisbon!
On the foreground you can see the Empire Square and a bit more on the back, you see the Jerónimos Monastery.
It was a pity that this one was shot at aprox. 15.30H and the light was very strong... Nevertheless the sky was clear!
Next time I should try it at sunset, with the golden light hitting the square and the monastery.
Please view it large!
Hope you like it

I too like it. Nice capture of a beautiful city. I also like the treatment, the good use of the sepia effect and the great sharpness.
