Shield Bug?

by paullucas

This bug was on a honeysuckle in my garden yesterday. I think it's a Shield Bug but am not entirely sure as I didn't see the back of it.
Also the thing coming out of it's mouth, is it part of it or a meal?

I have tried to find out what it is but have had no luck, so am sticking to my first thoughts of a Shield Bug.

I would be grateful if someone can confirm its name.

I think you're right about it being a sheild bug.

I do not know what kind of bug it is, but I do know it is an excellent capture of the subject - well taken.
