You appear to have either focussed on the background leaving the subject matter (the sheep) out of focus or your lens is back focussing and needs calibrating.

Thanks for comments yes I can see what you mean now. I've only just bought the camera and the lense so I went out and had ago. How do I get it calibrated? It was taken on auto.

If you set your camera to AV on top and AF at the side press the shutter half way down until it focuses on the subject, an aperture of F11 or smaller would keep most of the picture in focus a lower ISO would help with sharpness, hope this helps.

Same as the other comments Paul. If you aren't using autofocus, then focus manually on the sheep, otherwise, as Maria says, press the shutter half way until it is in focus.
