Actually, this is really my first swallowtail of the season. It was a little breezy and had to take several shots just to get one quite sharp. This was taken at 1/30s as the light was a bit off too.
With lighter and calmer evening weather I hope to do better!

That's a stunner Neil, I really do wish we had some butterflies here this year - I'm beginning to wonder if they've been wiped out completely by the c**p weather.

Thanks, David.
As I've mentioned, it helps having a dedicated area which we leave uncut and the butterflies come back year after year. Our weather has been poor, but, of course, it's still a lot better than in the UK. Everything is late, but there are plenty of species around that I haven't managed to do justice to yet.

How did you get it (and the flower stem) to stay so still to achieve that result ?
