Green-winged Crucible Damselfly

by prsjnb

A rare sighting (by the pond at the Cotswold Sculpture Park; link) of the Green-winged Crucible Damselfly (Ferrocarbonara chromaticus). An unexpected delight as the range of this species had previously been thought to be restricted to the Lower Don Valley, South Yorkshire. Having said that, I have had a premonition that one will be taking up permanent residence by my garden pond very shortly 🙃

Kudos to whoever created this creature. I suppose it is not edible.
