Squirrel on Fence Post

Squirrel on Fence Post

Photo Information
This squirrel quite happily sat on this fence post and allowed me to take a few shots of which I think this is probably the best.

Pentax K-, in APS-C crop mode, with a Pentax HD DA55-300 PLM @ 300mm @300mm
1/40sec, F8 & ISO400

Shot raw, processed in LR5 then cropped and resized for the web in PSE14.

Cracker one!

The red squirrel is making a return in West Ireland because of the re-introduction on the pine martin who has the greys for breakfast.

Great colours, the HD coating is fantastic, it is truly better than SMC as it allows more colour to pass. The fast focus of the pulse motor helped you there too!
"In a photographic context I don't like the use of the word 'shot' as where I live this word refers to an extreme act of violence and not the beautiful craft of photography"

Squirrel on a PEDESTAL, not a mere post! A glorious, sensuous, textured photo that has found the notoriously twitchy animal at a standstill---at least for 1/40 of a second. This would make a wonderful print.
