Twa Old Trees
by davidstorm
These twa (two) old trees at Walltown, Nothumberland have seen some years and have been bent to the will of the wind which sweeps this dramatic and wild landscape. They stand sentinel over a section of Hadrian's Wall, which snakes across the rocky outcrops, rising to 1700 feet above sea level. One can only imagine the life of the Roman Centurions whose job it was to patrol this border, they must have endured some hardship in the worst of Winter's fury. It's almost always windy here, even in the Summer.

Another super shot, i wouldn't like to be those trees in Winter but a wonderful scene it would make if you ever get to go again in the bleak midwinter

Well seen that clouds accentuate wind blown area, a location which has huge potential in almost any weather.

Excellent. Those clouds say it all with the support of the trees.
