The Vitons

Based on the ideas in Eric Frank Russell's SF novel "Sinister Barrier" in which we find that humans are simply herded and "milked" by the invisible Vitons, who feed off pain and emotion. The someone invents a way to see them....globes of light normally outside our range of vision. If you feel a chill while reading this, a Viton may be locked on, absorbing your thoughts and emotions. Feeding....

To give you an idea of scale... the little black square on the right-hand door is a porter's window...
and it is at head height!!
