Thank you Amitav, this is Konya, Turkey. As is indicated, it is not far from the university campus where I work and live nearby. The campus itself is 20 kms away from the town situated on the side of the highway to Afyon, Izmir and Istanbul from Konya.

This IS such a beautiful landscape, breathtaking wide vista with fabulous cloud shadows. Contemplating Antalya for my next hols, and notice this isn't a million miles away. Any recommendations for spots to visit would be very gratefully received!
