A very good, spooky and unusual image. I like it a lot. I'm not sure timing has anything to do do with it as the line from the shadow of the head to the head and beyond does not lead to a light source. Nor can I see the mist to provide that beam of light. But that takes nothing away from a clever and skilled piece. Maybe the clues are deliberate.

Crop a little lower to take out the lamp and it would make a great alien abduction

Hi all
yep - the timing only happend in my mind - I took a landscape picture I once took during a night session and combined it with a picture of my son (when he walked through the holocaust memorial in Berlin at daylight - the memorial made even a 4year old boy were thoughtfull, hence, this portrait worked ideal for the moody night shot. (yep - shadow is too long - not sure, why I made it that long (at least, the shadow below is hip seems to work as it would be there in a original scene and as it makes the boy look a bit more 3d).
PS - thanks for your welcome - I still do not have a new Pentax - just my very old K20D with the Tamron 17-250 but I learned many new processing techniques in the past and started to work also on old pictures - hope this is still OK for you

but there already so many alien abduction pics in the web (honestly - I thought about it but then I thought - it is even better to use a real exiting light source for the artificial light beam
