The American Cemetery
by pauljay
As part of her diploma course daughter Shari is currently assisting in transferring the records of the interrees of the American cemetery in Margraten from the present card index to a computerised system. While she was working a few days ago I took the opportunity to wander the grounds and take a few photos. I was actually looking for the grave of Maurice Rose as a local primary school is named after him. General Rose was the highest ranking Jewish officer in the US Army at the time of his death on March 30th, 1945 near Paderborn, Germany. I didn't actually find the grave but at least I now know where it is located. A very cold, and emotional, hour.

Thx for infos. A GREAT compo. I like matching of two "different"crosses even if in front of DEATH there are no differences, IMHO. Tree in background almost look a big CROSS embracing all HEROES in this green "field". After a battle on this EARTH new battles expects us in HEAVEN. This photo is rich of meanings and I hope that in Heaven there will be any longer wars between different CROSSES or Peoples.
