How did you manage to get so many 'models' together like this? I like the show-off doing a headstand at the top of the group!

@ Dave ... some entrepreneurial ant stands up and yells, "SAP!" and the little perishers all come running. Yes, I like the comical fellow too.
It's interesting to watch the "empty" ants who come up the stem and compare them with the "full" ants that go down the stem, having milked the aphids. They are visibly much fatter. If one could weigh a full ant and subtract the weight of an empty one and multiply the result by the number of journeys (thousands) made in a day, the result would be quite amazing.
