Step back into the 1950s

by trixie

From the Village Church in Litton Derbyshire, a dedication to the 1950s, for the queens jubilee, there was transisitors radios, I used to listen to Radio Caroline on one of these, a Dansette Record player and lots of LPs also old bits of china, I think we all probably had some of these items.

My father use to have the similar radio like that one on the left. I think it was French made... He had a speech impediment, was unable to pronounce the "R". I hope I wrote it correctly Otherwise, Trixie is a very nice photo!

Hello thank you for your lovely comments, I have more photos that I took on the day out, all from the 1950s, I think every home had one of these radios, we used to warm the batteries up in the oven...... wonder we never blew ourselves up!!!

Lovely capture, Trixie. We in Hungary haven't any of them because then the technical goods were on COCOM list. We had our brands like BRG, ORION, VIDEOTON, UNITRA, etc.

That brings back some nice memories Mrs Trixie!
Did you listen to Caroline North or South? I used to listen to Johnnie Walker every evening on South. Still one of my favourite broadcasters.
