Steaming to Scarborough
by pgweber
As I haven't posted one of these for a while, here is another pic of Ex LMS 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland'. It is seen near Ilkeston, picking up speed after slowing for a signal.
This shot is from April 2008, when she was off to Scarborough. The railtour calendar is quite repititive from year to year as I have shown the same engine going to the same destination in April 2009 & 2010.
Hope the steam buffs enjoy it, to the rest, sorry!

But like you commented once before Paul, "shame it isn't an all maroon rake (of coaches)".
I think I read that the 8Fs were en-route via France.
Thanks for looking in.

The 8Fs had a trek across Turkey from Sivas to Izmir and then sailed to Portbury (UK). At least one was destined for somewhere in the Midlands.

The Dutch Alps!
Apparently Nezih missed a photo opportunity back in October when two 8Fs passed through Konya being re-patriated to the UK. Don't know where they are now.
