Steam and snow

Here's one to show the freezing weather we're having in the UK. Taken on the steam railway at Tanfield near where I live when they were running Santa specials for the kids.Saturday (Dec 6)

I really like the lighting in this photo. The tones and the contrast really lift this image. You have well captured the cold snowy conditions.

You were thinking of bad weather coming now you have it! Having said that I think this is a very good photo: we can see it was cold, it is still early December and it looks like it is winter already, also black and white seems logical to capture the steam train.

Thanks for your kind comments all. Your intrepid photgrapher put his art before life and limb and the wellbeing of his Pentax gear in getting this shot. It was so icy underfoot I was flailing about like a demented Torvel and Dean with mad cow disease trying to stay upright.
