I wanted to capture the Skipper being backlit by the sunlight.

Just superb, great light, a great angle on the Skipper and the thistle compliments it all perfectly. This is the type of shot I was trying to get the other day, but the Skippers in my garden wouldn't settle where I wanted them to go!

P.s...I laid in a field with camera ready for quite a while until the Small Skipper landed on the thistle in front of me . I managed a few shots from afar and slowly advanced until he flew off. This is my best of about a dozen shots and very lucky that for once the butterfly landed where I wanted him and I got the shot I wanted.
