Impromptu

by davidtrout

A couple of weeks ago we were in Wiltshire and visited Lacock Abbey, home of photography pioneer Henry Fox Talbot.
The National Trust now not only permits photography inside their properties but also welcomes visitors with the appropriate skill to play their historic musical instruments. This visitor enthralled an audience with a Schubert impromptu on this 1850s Broadwood piano.

Like John Riley's shot yesterday, it is a delightful study of an instrumentalist playing- the music, the hands and the concentration all captured together.

Nice lights and colours. I like the bookshelf in the background and the reflection of the keys.
