Did you use a filter for this Peter?

Hello Cliff,

I shot this as a jpeg, f8 @ 1/750, ISO 200 with 16-45 @ 28mm. No physical filter.

I processed in Silky Studio Free Version with the following settings:
Exposure: -1/3
WB: Default(?)
Contrast: Strongest
Colour: Monochrome2 (just 1 other mono option, this looked better)
Sharpness: Normal

The monochrome colour settings appeared to be accentuating different colours.

I also cropped around the trees to 2400x1600 and resized to 50%.

Not particularly well done as I am avoiding Elements4 (but I see some quite good offers on PSE 7 & 8 last night).

Well I dint know about the rail tour but yes I will be somewhere along the line just outside of Warrington, and thanks for letting me know Peter. Just a pity about the overhead power lines, spoils the shot I think! but it will be nice to see 70013 again, 1968 when I seen her last!.

I never tried coloured filters despite shooting some B&W in my film days (always a bit disappointed with the contrast of shop prints so maybe time to start scaning the negs and P-shopping!)

I had a couple of circular skylight filters on my old film lenses and an ND +2 grad Cokin square filter since going digital.

It got marked in it's plastic case near the centre, which is a shame. It could be useful for those steam engine shots so as not to blow the highlights in the steam.
