Le Vele (The Sails)
by GIULIO57
This “Stone Building” is known as “Le Vele(The Sails)”. Place: Lido di Camaiore-Tuscany-Italy. Date: June 2012. Camera PENTAX K20D on tripod and PENTAX Zoom Lens 18-55mm. Manual Exposure. When taking this photo I was thinking of “Le Vele almost like rockets to reach other Planets; like sails are rockets for a ship”. Playing with this file I got these effects that suggested me the idea of “planet Mars with its strange atmosphere and colours”. This place is Magic: your feet are on this earth but your mind is traveling through the Space while winds from the Sea are caressing your face. This place is a platform to start a new travel; is a window or a roof onto a different World. I hope You like it. I got this result playing with CURVES only, no other pp.

This is a really strange one for you Giulio; Have you been smoking the wacky baccy?
(but it does make me come back to it & stare)

A picture for the wall, very modern and artistic like the type we see in an art gallery, special!

This is certainly a very striking image and not of your 'normal' style Giulio. I'm not sure if I can say I 'like' it from a personal point of view, but I can certainly appreciate the quality of it and your very special talent that you have for seeing the extraordinary in ordinary situations.
I hope you understand what I mean!

David

Yes David I do understand what you mean. Honestly speaking I don't like such "wacky baccy or marjuana style"...but it is interesting to make experiments. I would like to add that this place has been photographed by a lot of italian peoples and it's possible to watch at a lot of pics on web italian galleries (and a few from abroad). All these photos are similar...and boring. I was looking for something different and original and "baccy" gave me this chanceThe baccy I mean is SUN...a lot of sun on my head gave same effects of wine or alchol!!!

Hi I was just taking a look back over your portfolio there are some very nice images I really like this piece of work that looks as though it comes from another time and place. Curves can have some really strange effects but in the case it works so well.
Regards John.
