I know B&W often works well with 'distressed' property but I actually prefer this version. I like that the face stands out better and it makes this photo for me. That eye, roughly on the thirds, really grabs my attention. However, perhaps you think it's too much of a distraction and that's why you tried B&W?

It's the kind of photo I'd like to have taken.

Thank you for the kind appreciation! You're right, I also think that the face is the irony and it is what makes the photo. I did not want to amplify it, so I chose to convert it. However, the colours and textures are better in the original version...and I like it better.

I prefer this version too - the muted colours give it more life. There's something quite eerie about the face !
