Surging!

Several days of incessant rain in the Lake District has produced surging torrents of water where normally there would be streams. This one is rushing down the Borrowdale Valley towards Seathwaite, which is officially the 'wettest place in England'.
This one has taken some processing because, try as I might, I could not keep spray and rain off the filter that was attached to the lens, despite constantly wiping it. The net result was tiny water droplets all over the image which I have had to clone out as best I can.

Those distant feeder streams add to the effect too. I think the result more than repaid getting a bit wet

That is a painstaking task, cloning out water droplets)! You have come up with a beauty though. Did you go up the valley and much higher? Or just stay 'low'?

Hi Andy, I went up higher, but ran out of light. I got as far as Stocksley Bridge, a very picturesque pack horse bridge, of which I got some nice photos as the clouds broke and the sky turned pink-ish, but there are water drops on those too!That is a painstaking task, cloning out water droplets)! You have come up with a beauty though. Did you go up the valley and much higher? Or just stay 'low'?

You can feel the force and the noise in this shot. Love the way you've got the feeder streams coming down the hillside. Great shot !

Totally agree with what's been said!!!! A powerful shot! Noticed the brilliance of including the feeder streams in the background as well. Wonderful color resolution too!
