Hi David, .. and thanks.
What’s intriguing in the pic, is probably the spot itself first, .. I’ve been intrigued too when I saw it first time, last July. Probably an unexplored cave But the effect is also probably boldened with this very concentrated and restrained sun light. It's about 10 miles to Kvikkjokk (Sweden) coming from North, from Ritsem, close to Norway. You know, when you've got 18 kg on shoulders, and about 80 miles behind you, you don't linger on the route and wonder "what's that ? " unfortunately
best wishes, ..

My reason behind was as follows, Nuri:
"the Swedish name for this Finnic people (their name for themselves was Sabme), which probably originally was an insulting coinage (cf. M.H.G. lappe "simpleton"); but in Eng. traditionally the home of witches and wizards who had power to conjure winds and tempests." It just occurred to me to look up a dictionary for lapland.

That is a very brooding image, Nuri. I think Nezih probably has got something there. In Sami shamanism, the old religion, springs and natural features are venerated. I imagine if you asked the locals what this hollow was called it would have an interesting name! Sometimes I have seen things walking and meant to find out more about them. I rarely have!
Best wishes,

In the region I haven't been told about this "deep". Thanks for this interesting clue , .., Maybe subject could be investigated inside the immensely rich Sami museum of Jokkmokk (which I've already visited). Here is an exiting reason for me to get back to the area ..
Cheers,
