Thanks for your comment Dilek, The effect is quite simple I just underexpose and use a three shot bracket in situations like this (almost shooting into the sun) and then pick out the one I like best!, then in Paint Shop a little play in curves and its done

Had a look on net about Butterley, pretty close to me will pay it a visit cheers Cliff , can't help in the kingfisher dept though unless your ever down here don't you get them up there:

Beautiful image with the potential to be great if someone with a chainsaw would please cut the trees down covering the 4 arches left of centre.
Perhaps a quarter cut off the top & bottom of frame but retaining full width would also add to the impact.
Anyone got a chainsaw?

This is a very smart composition. I like the nice silhouettes and colours. I especially like the colours and texture of the smoke.
