Lygus rugulipennis (aka Tarnished Plant Bug)

by Yorkie

Whenever I get out my macro rig and head out into the garden, the bugs head off on holiday - and today was no exception. However, I did manage one quick shot before this 6mm little blighter got airborne. It wasn't until I saw it on the computer screen that I realised that it is quite a handsome critter, so all is forgiven - for now.

Cracking shot.

Bit of a mouthful identification wise though...i'd call it the 'Love Bug' re. the heart shape behind its head.

Certainly easier to say Karl.

Could I ask a Mod to correct my stupid spelling mistake in the title, from Pland to Plant please, it's doing my head in.

Oops, I didn't realise I could edit the title myself sorry.

Nice capture. They come in all colours it seems. This is quite a pretty one.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass
