Super image, the mono treatment is spot on. You always make me feel slightly guilty in that you produce stunning images with camera/ lens combinations that I struggle with. The 28-105mm is a lens I feel I ought to use more but have never had much success with - must try harder!
Your comments are really appreciated Stephen, especially coming from someone who regularly produces superb mono images Super image, the mono treatment is spot on. I've spent a lot of time trying to "love" wide to short tele zoom lenses, most of the higher quality ones are nearly there but not quite - my favourite was the FA* 28-70/2.8, a superb lens at the wide end (as good as a 28mm prime) but it tailed off from 60-70mm, when the latest 28-105 came out I steered clear expecting it to be a a good compromise lens but when I eventually succumbed (as I inevitably do) I was pleasantly surprised and am happy to take it with me on lightweight travel trips. The same is true of the DA 16-85 for APS-C, an excellent performer all round - as good as my DA*16-50. Having sung the praises of these lenses I'm still a massive prime lens fan and would prefer to have a good selection with me on any trip if I was still up to carrying all that weight
