Taking on water
by davidtrout
In a beautiful Welsh valley at Dolgoch the little narrow gauge railway loco Tom Rolt is filled up with water. This is the Talyllyn Railway, the first line in the world to be saved from extinction by volunteers and railway enthusiasts in the early 1950s.
This engine was named after Tom Rolt, engineer and author, who was the driving force behind the preservation of the railway.

Rich looking colour and a delightful vista that could be straight out of the Awdry books.

Peter, I think Tom Rolt knew Awdrey who based his characters on the engines of the Talyllyn Railway.Rich looking colour and a delightful vista that could be straight out of the Awdry books.
