Just got back from a very eventful trip in Sumatra. Wow.what an experience as Bule (whiteman) i was an exception, I literally stopped traffic, I made babies cry, created unbelievable reaction at the market at 5.00 am and had my photo taken with at least 200 people who just wanted a picture with a fat, tall white man from England - more pictures will be posted shortly

Nice capture...do you know meaning of that gesture??? In Italy is not polite and its meaning is very wide and strange. In most areas and cases it means that "wife"has "sexual relation with another man"(in Italian language is "cornuto")....or if drivers are bad ones....making that gesture means "go to Hell" or "F.U"but the hidden meaning is always the same: problems in marriage!!...So I would like to know what is the meaning in Sumatra

No I'm afraid it is a ubiquitous Facebook pose badly adapted by a a child who have to say was pure joy. In fact 99% of the locals I met over the two weeks seem to have nothing but everything its amazing how people with very little can be so generous
