Orchid Stack

by GlynM

I shot this image for the recent forum "Crop & Pop" fortnightly competition and am just posting it up here to get it into my portfolio.

This is a focus stack of 5 images all shot with a Pentax K-5 and the Samsung equivalent of the DFA100 Macro.

1/15th sec, F8.0, ISO200 and -1.0 exposure comp.

It was shot standing in its pot on the dining room table with a black back-cloth and a pair of daylight low-energy florescent lamps, one just beyond back right and the other just beyond front left of the shot.

The focus stack was processed in CombineZp and a little bit of tinkering was done with my first attempt at using Lightroom3 (before the manual arrived ) and PSE10.

It makes a beautiful picture Glyn, well worth all the effort it took.
