A glimpse of the Abbey and distant lands

I love using the Pentax-M 28mm F3.5 and the way it performs on the K-3 is testament to its optical quality.
This shot prompted thoughts in my mind as I was framing / taking it, of days gone by when the Abbey would have owned lands for many miles around, probably up to and beyond the farthest you can see in this image.
