Sticky Mirror Problem
by graysummers
Just a bit of technical here. I had a Pentax LX sticky mirror problem a while back and the guy that fixed it said my focusing would have been out. I looked at this tree on this photograph closely [I'd focused upon that] and realised what he meant. My early poor-trait [] work too had similar with the eyes not sharp.
Anyone else suffer focusing with sticky mirror...or was it just my old eyes?

Wales is the perfect partnership for your lens. You see and deliver with panache these lovely landscapes.

Although having a 'sharp' tree would look good, this is still a great image. Again the grainy effect and composition are 'just right' IMHO along with the tonal range.

It doesn't detract from the overall compo, i don't think it spoils the picture at all

My crusade for photographers and artists of all types is to remain valiant in the face of "woulda',shoulda" - you produced the image - If your happy with it, it's over. Hey, if Monet's eyes left him and he kept right on painting what he saw then Gray is permitted to produce what he sees . I think the image is superb on many levels Technically superior and pleasing. BTW, Looked superb to me with my glasses on or off. great job, thanks tg

Absolutely with you on this... great compo, and the sharpness or otherwise of the tree not an issue for me... My crusade for photographers and artists of all types is to remain valiant in the face of "woulda',shoulda" - you produced the image - If your happy with it, it's over. tg

Thanks guys. I love the area I photographed and I am not a stickler for perfection as you know. It was just the conundrum of knowing if the mirror problem...which may happen again...detracts from the capturing of intendeds.
