The old lady and her dome

by AxelLuther

A bit symptomatic for the catholic German church nowadays: amazing big and pompous building which are used by an amazing low number of believers

One I read your explanation, Axel, the picture took on an extra poignancy.
Best wishes,

Good angle of view and I like the grey tones of the scene.

A nice angle and great tones of gray and, of course, excellent depiction of texture make this photo great. The explanation, as is indicated by Andrew, adds meaning to it. Well thought and presented!

Nice scene.
As Giulio mentioned, the tones are great and contrast of the pattern of the pavement with the church is amazing!

Wonderful B/W, i like the way the lady looks so insignificant compared to the Church, a sad story here too i'm afraid, so many beautiful churches but congregations are diminishing.

I like the way you've used the cobbles as a powerful foreground to this picture.

I agre with the others. It's a gorgeous shot. I like the B/W conversion, the nice gray tones.
