Woodland Path
by davidstorm
This image is an unusual one for me, it was taken as a 'snaphot' with no real consideration for evaluating the scene, we were simply out on a local walk. The interesting thing is that it's taken on my K-1 with a vintage Pentax 80-320 zoom lens, a lens that is not universally well regarded but is one that I really like, especially on the K-1. It's not the sharpest, but it lends a unique quality to images, it emphasises depth and three dimensionality.

The steep sided valley with a similar climb on the other side adds to the depth that one's eye has to accommodate to but once you have done this it becomes a beautiful image, full of detail, from one end to the other. That in itself vindicates this "not universally well regarded lens" since not all could deal with this view (mine has provided some superb results). Super image of a nice walk.
