Brilliant - as usual
Why is it so wet?
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Ok the fly was straight from my garden yesterday morning, hence why it was wet. I sprayed the surface it was on to kind of tie it in. The photo consists of 79 shots taken over 3mm. The bugs total length was 7mm but i never intended to take the whole thing as the end product.

Thank you all for your likes and kind words !

A really excellent stacking project. This is one ugly dude----attended many a dinner, but invited to none. Like a lot.

That's a well stacked fly,
Is it alive or dead ?
Haven't tried stacking yet, but is the slight haze a result of the stacking or flare from the flash ?

The slight haze is from my editing. I will correct it for my Flickr page.
Unfortunately the fly became deceased en-route from garden to studio. I try to photograph them alive if i can, and with a bit of their habitat included as well but sometimes it just doesn’t work out like that & keeping them still enough for the atack is the greatest challenge.
Thank you kindly
