What a beautiful setting.
Th sea seems a strange place to build a sarcophagus !

Nice shot Nezih, although I think I liked the first one better, especially with the description you gave.

Thank you all folks for the comments. The sarcophagus was not built there. Part of the remains of the ancient town of Simena is underwater now. The necropolis seems to be located in higher grounds and many of them are on the slopes of a hill, this one was on lower grounds so it was found as it is now.

This is a reminder that climates change! The sea level has risen, it can't be 'local' so it happened over the whole world. That is thought provoking. It is a beautiful picture too, Nezih. I like the Lycian coast a lot and plan to do some walking there next Spring.

Best wishes,

You are welcome,Nezih. We might not be able to carry all our favourite lenses though! I want to walk the 'Lycian Way'.

Best wishes
