Five Lunar 'Seas'

1. The big dark splodge in the centre is the Sea of Tranquility...Apollo 11 landed near its southernmost extremity...the first manned Lunar landing.

2. Northwest of this sea is another dark area known as the Sea of Serenity.

3. Immediately south of the Sea of tranquility is Mare Nectaris (Sea of Nectar).

4. To the northeast of Mare Nectaris and running North-South is Mare Fecunditatis (Sea of Fecundity),

5. While to its north east is the smaller circular Mare Crisium (Sea of Crises).
