East Coast Elecky

An electric train here as a change from my usual steam powered offerings:
Preserved Class 86 (AL6 for our older viewers!) No. 86259 is shown passing South Muskham near Newark with a private charter train from Edinburgh to London Kings Cross.
The loco is painted in 1960s style livery which matches well with the maroon coaching stock.
The loco carries the name of its' owner, Les Ross, a radio broadcaster and personality from the West Midlands.

Thanks for looking in Andy.
This loco spent 40+ years going up and down the West Coast main line and then turns up like this on an unfamiliar line on the opposite side of the country. Still, it has some novelty value for us railway photographers!

Having been a trainspotter in my (much) younger days, it was a novelty for me to see these in their early days, living as I did on the GWR near Bath. They were hailed as the new best thing in their time IIRC!
