Icy Cold

Rannoch Moor, Scottish Highlands. It wasn't actually freezing cold when this was shot, but the lakes were still frozen and the warmer temperatures had caused water to form over the top of the ice. This gave it a magical appearance which together with the great skies made for a fantastic scene.

Now this I like much more than the portrait shot of the same. I think you have got the foreground content right.
With such a wide open vista, the landscape format suits it so much better. The colour hue presents the cold theme well.
