Sledge Men

The 'Sledge men' on the island of Madeira - Funchal on a “Carro do Monte" which is a traditional toboggan ride on a wicker sled with wooden runners driven by two carreiros or men dressed in white with straw hats.

Malcombe. No longer "cobbled" streets. They have been covered in tarmac. SO now slower. The men have fitted the soles of their shoes with pieces of car tyres for the extra grip and ware.
Tiny2. Nice one. It brings back memories of a couple of good holidays on Madeira. I made a little Video on my wife's little point and shoot camera and at 70+yrs old she was screaming like a little school girl. "HAPPY DAYS"
