Comma butterfly

by PeterKR

Out walking the other afternoon I was amazed by the number of butterflies around, mainly flitting between flowers in the large hedgerows on the edge of a wooded area.
They were quite active and getting close enough (with the DA18-135) before they flew off again was quite a challenge !
The large whites in particular were very evasive, only stopping for what seemed like milliseconds before flying off again.
Fortunately the Commas seemed more sedate in their feeding habits and I was able to get this one in an upright pose !

Can anyone identify the flower, bush for me ?

Could be a vibernum (guelder rose) but their flowers are usually white.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Many thanks to you all for the kind comments.

Chasing butterflies can be a very frustrating occupation but when you manage to get one to pose like this it makes it all worth while !

Thanks again
Peter
