Five-spot Burnet, day-flying moth

Not seen any this year. This one looks to have overwintered (?)

As far as I'm aware, David, they do over-winter, sometimes twice in succession, but in the larval stage.

On the blustery day I took the photograph, this was the most obliging of the many tens that were present. I returned to the same site on the 27th and the Burnet Moths were still present, but largely in pairs and mating. I did engage in a spot of voyeuristic photography, however the results were a little too racy to post on the forum
