...and what an excellent sky it is Stan - but can't help wanting to see a little more of the ground

No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

Thanks for the kind comment Carl. This place is more or less across the road from where I live and it was more of an exploration when I went down there but is a place I will be going back to.

Wonderful sky and solid composition. I very much like images with this kind of balance between sky and ground. Did you use a polarizer or ND grads when taking this image?

Thank you for the kind comment Bjørn. I used a polarizer on a Tamron 10-24mm @ 24mm

Im a lover of clouds and good skys, I like this alot.... perhaps invest in a circular polorising filter for even better contrast and details

Thanks for the kind comment Stewart. I did use a Sigma DG Cpl and can't afford a better quality one at the moment

Fantastic sky, i don't think you could improve on it without it looking over processed, super shot

Super shot, it encapsulates Northumberland. Ever since my first visit I've thought of Northumberland as "the big sky county".

They've said it all - and I totally agree (but not the bit about wanting to see more ground!)

Thank for the kind comment David.
I have images from the same spot showing a lot of ground (it's flat featureless sand) that was one of the reasons I cut it off.

A friend of mine walks that beach every morning so I feel I know it quite well from her photos on FB! That must have been a difficult compromise Stan!

Thanks for the kind comment Paul. I only used a CPL and am pleased with the result. Once the tide turns because it's fairly flat it covers very quickly.

I wonder if your friend is on my list too
