Little grebe, slightly bigger fish...

Small, feathery optimist struggles to digest breakfast in Kelsey Park, Beckenham. Taken with K-5 IIs and Sigma 100-300mm f4, then significantly cropped as little grebes are rubbish at staying close to the edge of lakes

theyre crafty wee buggers to shoot. the only time you get close is when they are feeding young

What an amazing sight to capture and despite heavy crop it looks pretty good to me. The moment they see me they dive never to be seen again.
Did the little fellow manage to swallow it?

Yes, David, the fish eventually lost. As ever with little grebes, though, consumption tends to be a lengthy process when they catch anything bigger than a stickleback...
