I like the trees on the left in particular, what is the green in the branches? Is it mistletoe?

Yes, it's mistletoe and it grows very easily on poplars. This area is heavily forested and there are also many poplar plantations. Unfortunately the mistletoe is usually too high up to reach at Christmas time !

Nice compo. I like simplicity of horizontal and vertical lines.

Me too, i thought the Mistletoe were crows nests at first glance.
