Derbyshire Duchess

You almost see before you the steam photographers nightmare.
Modern traction passing in front of you before the steam engine you have sought, passes by. Of course I could crop this to maintain a byegone illusion and lose the overhanging branches.
Ex LMS No. 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' is seen passing a foot crossing north of Ambergate, with a day-trip from Sheffield (vi Derby) to Newcastle on 8th June 2013.
I hope 'John Whit' likes it as I think it has some of the immediacy of his lineside shots. Passed through David Trout's patch later too, got a shot David?

Thank you John.
She was working against the gradient and trying to pick up speed after a station stop just over three miles away at Belper. Hence a good display but not terrifically fast.

A great locomotive and I think, for once, you're right to keep the modern loco in shot.
Best wishes,
Andrew

I do indeed like it, very well captured at what appears to be a good speed. It's a shame about the modern traction but it gets us all at one time or another
