Donna - Selfie1980

by Wildwood512

Yep, selfie back in 1980 when I was a budding photographer. I took this picture for a photo class assignment where we also had to print it in the class photo lab ourselves. I thought I was so awesome using a fan to depict some motion. LOL!

Scanned an old photo and touched up.

Goodness Donna you looked (look?) like Ava Gardner. Great shot and very glamorous.
Best wishes,

Andrew

Yup. And if you ask me - the fan worked, too! Beautiful.

I agree and it's nice to see the face ( even a younger version) behind the lens

Great glamour shot. How about a modern day equivalent?

That's a thought, Donna. Try to recreate the pose, focal length, 1940s Hollywood lighting etc. You might even have the clothes tucked away somewhere. I've probably still got lots of clothes from the 1980s although whether I'd be ale to get into them now is another matter...
Best wishes,

Andrew

To recreate that shot will need a selfie-stick like a pike rod, Donna!
Best wishes,

Andrew

Don't care whether it was a pentax or not, it's a great image. I love the tones and the movement in your hair and scarf. Sally

Wish i had had the insight to have done a selfie many moons ago, this is a super image, very much of the Silver screen if it hadn't been 1980, well done you!

Wowzers everyone, overwhelmed by the response, and feelin' the love! 😍

The mentions of 1940's, Vogue, Holywood, and Silverscreen are right on the money as that was what I was going for. I loved that era, ( thanks to mom & dad)!

Pressure to top this one...stay tuned! 😎
Cheers...Donna 😊
