Make mine a half!

by prsjnb

Taken when experimenting with a 70mm Sigma DG EX Macro in conjunction with a 1.4x EX DG APO TC (not listed as a compatible combination by Sigma). Having made several captures of different subjects with this combination, I've come to the conclusion that any gain in working distance is more than offset by a marked degradation in the IQ of this, IMHO, wonderful lens. Moral: heed the advice of Sigma and not the 'experts' on the forums (not this one, I hasten to add)! Despite this, I felt the image had some merit as I had never observed this behavior before.

Nice sharp shot, Jon and the DOF is perfect too. You can combine this set with your Raynox DCR250 and you will get a more closer look.
