I love the fact that so many birds mate for life and these two are no exception, you're blessed to have these lovely birds in you garden and to capture this gorgeous shot

What can one say ; a superb and skillful capture of an iconic bird in a stunning setting; such a credit to the photographer.

I have quite the advantage in taking these nature shots as my house is surrounded by 25 acres of woods in the country. Lots of windows in my house and the main floor is the second floor, eye level to the upper parts of trees. So, when I'm home, as I go about my day, I'm watching for birds through my windows and pick up my camera when I see something interesting.
I've lived here 20 years and never had a telephoto, and after seeing bird shots here on PU, I just had to have one. So you all have been quit an ispiration and influence on my photography! 😀
Most of these nature shots have been taken through windows (an incentive to keep my windows clean) and are sometimes soft in focus....that's when I take an artistic approach, to make them presentable. All in all, it has been Fun!

Sadly, the magpie that we reared since last summer, when we found her ejected from the nest, failed to return home at the end of the day three weeks ago. All possible explanations have crossed our minds but we settled on the theory that she perhaps found a partner and has relocated. Magpies have incredible memories and don't forget faces so there is hope that she may just drop in sometime for a croissant, cheese and cucumber! We miss her like mad!
