Silver from the shadows

by LennyBloke

My inspiration for landscape photography came from seeing some of the incredible images of Ansel Adams when I was at high school - his mastery of monochrome coupled with the tonal ranges he produced in some great compositions was and still is what I aspire to. On nearly all journeys I photograph trees, hardly any of these images are good enough to even process but every now and then I capture a handful I enjoy and Brownsea Island is often the place that produces these.

This is one of my favourites from this trip and best viewed at the largest size. Hope you enjoy

It is indeed a nice one - even my wife said so!
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

This is SUPERB ! A A's "ASPENS". I am also greatly infuenced by A A, studied and practised his ZONE SYSTEM during film era. This image is, indeed, a tribute to the Master. Excellent image in monochrome with perfect composition and great tonal range , truly, you have produced silver from the shadows !!!
